Forehead Lifting (Forehead Reduction)

Purpose:

Reduces the appearance of sagging skin on the forehead. Elevates the eyebrows to a more youthful position. Smooths wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Opens up the eye area, making the face look more refreshed and alert.

Procedure:

Performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Techniques: Endoscopic Brow Lift: Small incisions are made behind the hairline, and an endoscope (a thin camera) is used to lift the tissue. Coronal Brow Lift: A longer incision is made across the top of the scalp, hidden within the hairline. Temporal Brow Lift: Focuses on lifting the outer brows and upper eyelid areas. Direct Brow Lift: Incisions are made directly above the eyebrows (less common).

Recovery:

Initial swelling and bruising are common. Most people can return to light activities in about a week. Full recovery can take 4–6 weeks.

Ideal Candidates:

People experiencing sagging brows or heavy forehead lines. Individuals in good health without underlying conditions that may impair healing.

Procedure

Typically performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. An incision is made along the hairline, and a portion of the forehead skin is removed. The scalp is advanced forward and sutured in place.

Recovery:

Swelling and bruising around the forehead and scalp are common. Most people can resume non-strenuous activities in about a week. Full results may take a few months to appear as swelling subsides.

Ideal Candidates:

Individuals with a high hairline or large forehead who wish to improve facial balance. Good scalp laxity (the ability of the scalp to move forward).

Forehead Reduction (Hairline Lowering Surgery)
